🚿 Where Is My Water Going? (Beta Feature)

Ever wondered which fixtures in your home are using the most water? The new "Where is my water going?" feature in the Droplet app gives you a daily breakdown of your water usage by fixture type.

This feature is currently in Beta—and improving every day with your help.

🔍 What You’ll See

In your Usage tab (at the bottom of the app), you’ll now find a section labeled “Where is my water going?”. It displays the amount of water used today by:

  • 🚿 Showers

  • 🚽 Toilets

  • 🚰 Faucets

These categories represent the most common sources of residential water use, and are prioritized in this early version of the feature.

🧠 Powered by Your Tags

Droplet uses machine learning and tagging feedback to identify which fixture was likely used. Every time you tag an event, it helps us:

  • Train and improve detection models

  • Increase accuracy

  • Add more fixture categories in the future (e.g. washing machines, irrigation, dishwashers)

Even tagging each fixture a couple of times goes a long way!

🚧 Still in Beta – What That Means

This is an early-stage feature. You may notice:

  • Some usage events aren't categorized yet

  • Totals may not add up to your full daily usage (uncategorized usage isn’t lost—just not yet labeled)

We’re actively working on:

  • Adding more fixture types

  • Improving the breakdown’s accuracy

  • Making results more personalized to your home
