You can now set your Droplet account to Away Mode, making your Droplet more sensitive to water usage while your home is vacant.
This feature ensures you're notified faster about any unexpected water flow, giving you peace of mind while you are away from home.
You can find Away Mode here: Menu > Alert Settings > Away Mode > toggle "On"
How Away Mode Works:
When activated, Away Mode adjusts how Droplet monitors your water line to detect potential issues much faster than standard monitoring. Here's what happens when you turn it on:
Increased Sensitivity: Your Droplet immediately uses stricter alert thresholds.
High Flow Alerts: Triggers if water flows at a rate of 1 gpm for 1 minute.
Unusual Flow Alerts: Triggers if water flows at a rate of 0.03 gpm for 30 minutes.
Leak Intelligence Bypass: Standard Leak Intelligence learning and monitoring are temporarily bypassed to prioritize strict leak detection.
Note on Averages: Any water usage that occurs during Away Mode does not count towards your historical averages, ensuring your standard daily usage baseline remains accurate.
Customizing Your Alerts
You have full control over how and when you are notified during an Away Mode event. Below are visuals of the main dashboard while on Away Mode, and the Settings and Alert Configurations screen:
Notification Types: You can choose to receive alerts via email, push notifications sent to your mobile device, or both.
Event Triggers: Email alerts are automatically sent for High Flow and Unusual Flow events that occur during Away Mode.
Customizable Toggles: Email and Push notifications can be independently enabled or disabled per alert directly from the Away Mode Alert Settings menu.
If you see usage notifications while on Away Mode, double check if it's due to one of your automated fixtures like your whole-home humidifier or irrigation system.
