Your Droplet dashboard gives you a detailed breakdown of how much water your home uses—day by day, hour by hour. It’s one of the most powerful features in the app, designed to help you understand your habits and spot opportunities to conserve water (and money).

📊 What You See on the Dashboard

When you open the Usage tab, you'll land on the default "Day" view. Here’s how to read it:

  • Left Side (Today So Far):
Shows the total gallons used so far today
Beneath that, you’ll see a bathtub icon 🛁, which tells you how many full bathtubs that amount of water equals (based on ~29 gallons per tub).

    Example: 58 gallons = 2 bathtubs

  • Right Side (Daily Average):
Displays the average total daily water usage for your home, based on the past 30 days.

    • If today’s usage is below the average, you’ll see a minus sign.

    • This updates dynamically as your water use increases throughout the day.

📈 Graph: Daily Usage Breakdown

The graph shows your usage by the hour:

  • Blue bars = Today

  • Gray bars = Yesterday

Tap any bar to see exactly how much water was used in that time block. This helps identify patterns—like early morning showers or nighttime leaks.

📅 Switching Views: Day, Week, Month, or Now

At the top of the screen, you can switch between:

  • Now: See water flow in real time (gallons per minute)

  • Day: Hour-by-hour usage for today and yesterday

  • Week/Month/Year: View long-term trends and track your progress over time

This flexibility gives you both a zoomed-in and zoomed-out view of your household water behavior.

💡 Pro Tips

  • High spikes? Look for events like irrigation or maybe a long shower

  • Lower-than-usual usage? You might be away or conserving—great job!
