The new SmartArc view gives you a clearer, more intuitive way to see how your water usage compares to your home’s average.
💧 What the SmartArc Shows
The arc at the top of the screen represents your current water usage for a given time period- for example, monthly or weekly.
The drop icon indicates your average usage, helping you understand how your current consumption compares to your typical patterns.
The flag icon marks your usage limit, if you’ve set one.
The SmartArc will fill up as your approach your usage limit, turning from blue to orange.
This visual makes it easy to see at a glance whether your home is using more or less water than usual.
📊 Usage Details
Below the SmartArc, you’ll find a detailed bar chart showing your usage trends over time — day by day or week by week.
You can tap and swipe between Day, Week, Month, or Year views to explore how your consumption changes across different periods.
🚩 Setting a Limit
You can set a daily limit to stay on track and receive alerts before usage gets too high. Droplet will use this to calculate a weekly, monthly and yearly limit for you.
When you reach your set limit, Droplet will send a push notification to let you know.
You can:
Set a limit manually in gallons or percentage of your average.
Choose from preset goals, such as using 30% less water.
Follow Hydrific Guidance based on your household size.
Your chosen limit will appear in the SmartArc's flag icon, helping you visualize how close you are to your goal.
🔔 Getting Notified
When your usage passes the set limit, you’ll receive a notification like:
Daily Limit Reached – 200 gallons used today
From the notification, you can tap to see:
The exact time your limit was reached
How much water went over the limit
The total volume used that day
A shortcut to view the usage breakdown for more details
Tip: Adjusting your limits over time can help you build awareness and identify opportunities to reduce your home’s water consumption.
Understanding Averages
To help visualize water usage trends more clearly, we calculate moving averages over different time periods. These averages smooth out short-term fluctuations and highlight meaningful patterns.
Daily Average
A 30-day moving average that smooths out day-to-day changes and captures consistent weekly usage patterns.Weekly Average
A 12-week moving average that shows more stable, high-level trends.
(Weeks run from Sunday to Sunday to align with natural usage cycles and seasonality.)Monthly Average
A 12-month moving average that highlights quarterly and seasonal trends while reducing random noise.Yearly Average
A 3-year moving average that provides insight into long-term patterns and seasonality.
All averages are calculated using completed calendar periods (Day, Week, Month, Year), beginning from the time the device was first paired to a residence.
