1. 📦 Unbox and Get Ready

Inside your Droplet box, you’ll find:

  • 1x Droplet device

  • 1x 5-foot USB-C power cable

  • 1x AC wall adapter

If your install spot is more than 5 feet from an outlet, have an extension cord ready.

2. 📲 Download the Droplet App

  • Scan the QR code inside the box using your phone

  • You’ll be directed to the App Store or Google Play Store

  • Download and install the Droplet app

3. 🔐 Create Your Account

  • Open the app and tap “Get Started”

  • Enable Bluetooth and allow notifications when prompted

  • Sign up using your email, or log in with Apple, Google, or Facebook

  • Check your inbox to verify your email

4. 🏠 Set Up Your Home Profile

  • Name your device and enter key details:

    • Home type (e.g., single-family, apartment)

    • Address (optional)

    • Number of residents

  • Add your fixtures (e.g., toilets, showers, faucets) so you can tag events later — this helps improve detection accuracy over time

5. 🧰 Install Droplet on Your Pipe

  • Locate your main water pipe (usually near the main shutoff valve, before any splits to a hose or heater)

  • Plug Droplet into a power outlet using the USB-C cable and adapter

  • When powered, Droplet’s light will begin blinking orange

  • Place Droplet on a straight, clean section of the pipe

  • Tighten the blue knob to clamp it securely — the light will turn solid blue when properly installed

6. 🔗 Pair Droplet via Bluetooth

  • In the app, tap “Continue” to start pairing

  • After you have paired to Droplet via Bluetooth in the app, choose your Wi-Fi network from the provided dropdown

  • Enter your password to connect — Droplet supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only

7. 📡 Automatic Pipe Detection

  • Droplet will now detect your pipe type and size

  • This step takes up to 2 minutes and ensures accurate readings

  • No input is needed — just let the app complete the process

8. 🚽 Run a Flow Test

  • The app will prompt you to flush a toilet to confirm flow detection

  • Once successful, you’ll see a “Pipe Successfully Detected” message

Once setup is complete, you’re ready to start monitoring your home’s water usage in real time!
