1. 📦 Unbox and Get Ready
Inside your Droplet box, you’ll find:
1x Droplet device
1x 5-foot USB-C power cable
1x AC wall adapter
If your install spot is more than 5 feet from an outlet, you can use an extension cord.
2. 📲 Download the Droplet App
Scan the QR code inside the box using your phone camera
You’ll be directed to the App Store or Google Play Store
Download and install the Droplet app
3. 🔐 Create Your Account
Open the Droplet app
You’ll see a blue screen with an image of the Droplet on a pipe — when ready, click “Get Started”
When asked, turn on Bluetooth and allow notifications
Now choose how to sign up:

Tap "Continue with Email"
Enter your first and last name and your email address
If your email address is already registered, the app will prompt you to log in to your account.
Create a password (Must be 8 characters or more and include: 1 uppercase, 1 lowercase, and 1 special character: !?@#$%^&*_0- )
Tap Continue
Check your email and look for a message from [email protected]
Tap “Verify Email” in the email and follow the prompts
If successful, click "Continue"

On the sign-up screen, tap “Log in” (top right)
Enter your email and password, or tap Apple/Google/Facebook again
Forgot your password?
On the login screen, tap “Forgot Password?”
Enter your email
Check your inbox and click the reset link
Set a new password and log in
4. 🏠 Set Up Your Home Profile
The app shows a progress bar: Set up your home info → Install Droplet → Pair Droplet
Tap Continue
Enter your home details
Type a home name (e.g., “123 Oak St”)
Type Address 1 (your street)
(Optional) Type Address 2
Type City, pick State, type ZIP
Select your time zone
Tap Next
Select your home type and household size
Tap one: Single family, Apartment, or Other
Slide the circle to set the number of people who live there (1 to 10+)
Tap Continue
Add your water fixtures (optional but helpful)
Tap a fixture to add:
Shower → choose name (e.g., “Primary Bedroom Shower”) → set count (1, 2, etc.)
Toilet → choose name → set count
Do the same with Faucet, Dishwasher, Washing Machine, Outdoor Faucet, etc.
Tap + to add more fixtures
When done, tap Continue
5. 🧰 Install Droplet on Your Pipe
Before you start
Find your main water shutoff valve. Look for the pipe where water first enters your home, typically near the main shutoff valve. This is often located in a basement, garage, crawlspace, or utility closet.
Make sure no water fixtures are running (no need to shut of the water)
Have a Droplet adapter and extension cord ready if needed
Tap Continue
Find the right installation spot
Look for your main water pipe right after the shutoff valve
Pick a straight, clean section (no bends, fittings, paint, or rust)

Plug in power
Plug the USB-C cable into Droplet
Plug the wall adapter into an outlet
The light on Droplet will start blinking orange
Tap Continue
Mount Droplet
Slide Droplet onto the pipe
Turn the blue knob clockwise until tight
Make sure the two white sensors are aligned with the pipe
Light turns solid orange → keep tightening
Light turns solid blue = perfect fit
If light stays orange: loosen Droplet, wipe pipe, try again

6. 🔗 Pair Droplet via Bluetooth
Click on Continue and the app will try to connect to your Droplet
The app says “Scanning for your Droplet…”
Keep your phone within 3 feet of Droplet
When you see “Droplet Name: Droplet Unpaired”, tap the screen. It will then prompt you to connect to your device.
If you have multiple Droplet devices available, click on the specific device you want to pair with. The light on the device you selected to will start blinking
If nothing shows up: pull phone away, come back, tap Try again
Allow Bluetooth (if asked)
Tap Allow when iPhone/Android asks for Bluetooth
If you choose Deny, you can go to your phone Settings → Droplet → turn Bluetooth ON → return to app to allow Bluetooth at a later time.
Connect to Wi-Fi
Pick your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network from the Network options
Enter your Wi-Fi password
Tap Join
Wait ~30 seconds — you’ll see “Wi-Fi connected”
Only works with 2.4 GHz (not 5 GHz)
7. 📡 Automatic Pipe Detection
The app says “Detecting pipe…”
Light on Droplet blinks orange → blue → orange
Wait up to 2 minutes — do not touch anything
When done, you’ll see “Pipe detected” and a checkmark
Tap Proceed to toilet test
8. 🚽 Run a Flow Test
Follow the app's prompt to “Flush a toilet to confirm flow”
Go to any toilet and flush once
Wait 10 seconds
App shows “Pipe successfully detected” with a green checkmark
Tap Finish
You’re done! Open the app anytime to see live water use, leaks, and savings.
Once setup is complete, you’re ready to start monitoring your home’s water usage in real time!
The calibration process can take up to 48 hours, after which time you'll receive a push notification to be able to manually improve your device's accuracy.
After a few days, your dashboard will report your water usage on the SmartArc, showing a breakdown of your daily water use. You can also view your weekly, monthly, and yearly water use by swiping right on your screen.
