If your Droplet turns blue briefly during setup but then reverts to blinking orange, it typically means the device lost pipe contact or failed pipe detection after a reboot.
This can happen if the signal was briefly good enough to pass initial checks but failed to maintain a stable connection.
π What to Check
π§ Clamp Tightness
Make sure the blue knob is turned snugly and the device is firmly clamped
The Droplet should sit flush and stable β if it wiggles or slips, the signal can be disrupted
π§Ό Pipe Surface
Check for rust, paint, condensation, or debris
Lightly sand the area with sandpaper or a Scotch-Brite pad to restore a clean surface
Avoid placing the device over stickers, seams, or textured coatings
πΆ Wi-Fi Connection
A weak or unstable Wi-Fi signal can delay status feedback
If your router is far from the install site, try moving it closer temporarily or using a Wi-Fi extender
π Reinstall or Relocate
If the orange light returns after power cycling or rebooting:
Unclamp the device
Clean and dry the pipe
Reattach the Droplet firmly
Watch for the light to turn solid blue
Still not working? Try another clean, straight section of the same pipe further away from valves, elbows, or junctions.
